Basic and to the point

| This textbook makes accounting look easy compared to other accounting textbooks I have examined. It covers the basics of accounting and goes right to the point. It has many problems at the end of each chapter that's great for practice and review. It also provides a website you could go to for a quick review and practice quiz. |
Good introduction to accounting

The book does a good job of exploring the basics of accounting. It explains concepts by demonstrating the use of a manual accounting system. The examples are well thought out and easy to understand. Computerized accounting systems are discussed only briefly.
The Excel templates downloaded from the companion website are an excellent resource. They lead you through the preparation of various ledgers, forms and reports. The templates include validation of the user's entries, so you receive immediate feedback when something is entered wrong. If you use the templates to complete the exercises at the end of each chapter, you literally can't go wrong.
The table of contents is rather hard to read. It employs lots of different fonts and colors which make it difficult to find the chapter or topic you are looking for.
The actual book itself uses a lot of graphics, almost to the point where the pages themselves are too noisy. Nevertheless, many of the graphics are helpful and make up for the "graphic noise" on every page.

| prompt receipt of order; college library out of stock and Amazon had the book for $20 less and received in 2 days; can always expect good service and ability to resolve any problems when ordered from Amazon, unlike some other book sellers where returns are almost impossible or they charge a 15% restocking fee. |
Good Deal
